Bharti Airtel Q2 Results, Profit Jumps: Bharti Airtel Share Price Falls by 2%

Bharti Airtel Q2 results FY25 reported a whopping 168% year-on-year growth in the consolidated net profit. Bharti Airtel Results Q2 FY25: Profit and Revenue

Bharti Airtel share price has delivered negative returns of 1.58% in the last 1 day (as on October 29, 2024) despite the rise in profits. The consolidated net profit was ₹3,593 crores in the second quarter of FY25 way higher than the net profit of ₹1,341 crores in the sequential quarter of FY24.

The revenue from operations rose to ₹41,473 crores in Q2 FY25 from ₹37,044 crores in Q2 FY24 with a growth of 12%. On the QoQ basis, the revenue grew by 7.7% due to growth in India and Africa business according to the Airtel Q2 results.

The consolidated EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization) was ₹22,021 crores and the EBITDA margin was 53.1% in the Q2 FY25. The average revenue per user (ARPU) grew by 15% YoY to ₹233 in Q2 FY25 from ₹203 in Q2 FY24.

Bharti Airtel Q2 Results : India Business Performance

The revenue generated by the India business grew by 17% YoY and 8.7% QoQ to ₹31,561 crores in Q2 FY25 as per the Airtel Q2 results. The EBITDA from the India business was ₹17,295 crores while the EBITDA margin grew by 86 basis points. This is due to positive growth in the mobile segment, Homes, and Airtel Business.

The revenue from India mobile services grew by 18.5% YoY with a rise in the tariff rate and smartphone customer additions. The Airtel business revenue also saw a rise of 10.7% YoY in the Q2 of FY25 fuelled by the domestic portfolio growth.

Conclusion

Bharti Airtel Q2 results for FY25 highlighted that the second-largest telecom operator (in terms of subscriber base) had a consolidated customer base of 563 million across 15 countries. The company had a competitive ARPU of ₹233 and added 4.2 million smartphone customers in the Q2 FY25. It also launched India’s first AI-powered spam detection solution to trace spam calls and messages.
