What is your take on the current market situation?

As of now Russia’s military aggression in Ukraine is showing little signs of abating. Even the foreign players who were selling in the market are now showing interest towards India’s growth story. The fundamentals of the Indian economy are strong as compared to other emerging economies. If we talk about inflation, there is an expectation that the inflationary situation in India will be better than as compared to other countries. The Indian central bank, the Reserve Bank of India has indicated a more accommodative stance than most of the central banks.

On the flip side, the key risk factor is the possible escalation of geopolitical tensions from already elevated levels, which could impact global growth, weaken global trade, and might disrupt global supply chains. It could be seen that global uncertainties are keeping certain commodity prices, especially crude oil, elevated and this is likely to moderate the consumption demand. Despite global concerns, markets are showing strong signs of resilience. However, on the valuation front, it is expected that India is better placed as compared to other economies. Otherwise, any investor who has a long-term horizon of 4 -5 years should get rewarded from the markets.
